Skunk Ape

6ft, 235lbs, riding a Skunk Ape II 161w for the last two seasons. I’ve been riding for 15 years, and had a TRS BTX 159 before that I loved. Thought the Ape was gonna be my “powder and big mountain days” board, turns out my BTX has been gathering dust because the ape just slays everything I like to ride better. Never had a boot drag wipeout from it, and when I lay a carve it TRENCHES and just goes. Thank you Lib Tech for making a big boy board, when I manage to flex this one out I’m getting another Ape.

I'm on my 2nd season with the 173UW, 6'3", 250, Size 14. The first time I rode this was the first time i've ever spent a day on the mountain without a toe-drag induced wipeout. The shape is super responsive but also very forgiving if you catch an edge. For size 14 boots I still need another inch of width to have normal overhang, but so far I haven't reached the edge of this thing's performance envelope so it might never matter. I've gone through ice and powder, taken some jumps and rails, and straight-lined down our steepest hills. For the first time I haven't been limited by my board and it's been fantastic.

192cm/92kg/46+/170uw 2025 I have been riding Skunk Apes since 2008 and it's the best board I can think of; Edge hold is also still unreal. The 25/26 nose shape is another huge step forward. Still a fan, 10/10 would do again.

So I'm an ape at 6'6" and 230lbs with size 15 US feet and got my hands on a 2024/2025 170UW Skunk Ape. I typically bomb down Blue runs and enjoy the occasional Black/Double Black. This board gives me so much confidence bombing down runs with ZERO toe or heel drag and when I come across icy patches this board digs in and shreds it like nothing. I'm so stoked and grateful for Lib-Tech making a board that makes me feel like a normal person! THANK YOU!
