Monkey Bars!

Im 6’1 215lbs, size 13, 43 years old and I ride the SA II 161w. I grew up skate boarding in the 80s on the west coast and The Skunk Ape II reminds me of my old Santa Cruz board of my youth, with the neon rails and slime ball wheels n all. This is my first brand new snowboard and this board doesn’t disappoint. It took a couple of days on the mountain to get used to the sensitivity and coordination of the board. But once you do….oh boy. It is like a dream. A straight arrow on the groomers, then on steep terrain it clings to mountains and stops turns ice i to powder, causing less injuries. Best part is that I will never get stuck powder ever again! Riding switch takes a little finessing but once you figure out the geometry of the board to your advantage, it becomes second nature. I took this board from Tahoe to Colorado and then switch down a half pipe, this season. Resorts beware of this beast of board comes up their lifts. This board roars all over the mountain like King Kong!

Surfs and Charges 10/10

I’m 6’2” 220lbs and size 12 boots riding the 165w. I’ve been riding for 10 years. I’ve had the skunk ape for 2 seasons and I feel like I’m really riding for the first time. Board is so responsive. I ride predominantly on the east coast, where natural snow is slim to none, but now I surf it like a zen master. When you lay down a toe edge buckle up and enjoy the ride cause the skunk ape is charging as fast as you want it to. Your will power will run out before this thing catches and edge or washes out on you. Wish I would have bought it sooner.

Become one with the Ape

This board is straight nasty. Born from the pandemic (with appropriate graphics), it's a board I've had to work with over the years. Year 1, this guy felt stiff, heavy and stubborn. Year 2, half-way through the season the Ape got flexy and sexy. Year 3 - this is the most hard charging, ass-kicking, see-ya-later beast on the mountain. It turns the resort into a play-yard and on powder days - there's nobody that's gonna catch you or spread those rooster tails like the Skunk Ape 170UW. I've been riding worldwide for 25 years - felt like I plateau'd for the last 5 - until I become one with the Ape.

Whoa!!!

Size 12 feet. 6'2" 270 lbs. Big and fat just like a skunk ape. This board is the best thing since fresh powder. If your a big guy get the Ultra wide model. Believe me.

First snowboard and it's great

Magne traction saved my butt on steep ice slope. I'm a big dude 6'3 265 and I was able to lock in the edge and not slide down the mountain. I'm pretty new and this was my first board ever but I'm decent and have experience skateboarding. Spent a weekend getting it down and now I'm hitting jumps. Pops very nicely. Way better than any rental I've had. Can also gain super speed... just need more confidence now. Ready for some better conditions on the ice coast. Haven't tested in much powder yet.
